Playfield Journal
Editorial policy
How our guides are written, checked, and corrected, and where the line between editorial and advertising sits.
This policy defines the standard for writing and correcting Playfield Journal's game guides and articles. It describes what a claim needs to be supported; it is not a statement that every catalog entry has completed every check.
Evidence for gameplay claims
A control, objective, reward, or save feature needs support from the corresponding playable build or a clearly identified source for that version. A menu label, loading screen, or successful page request alone does not establish how a mechanic works. A specific claim of hands-on play must identify what was observed rather than imply that the whole game was tested.
Separate observed behavior from suggestions. For example, advice to try a shorter input is a troubleshooting step, while a statement that a button restarts a level needs an observed restart. If an effect cannot be confirmed, describe that limit or omit the unsupported instruction.
Checks before calling a guide verified
The check should cover the game's current entry point, a meaningful core action, an end or failure state where applicable, and restart or an equivalent reset. Device-specific controls need a check with that input. Testing an opening level cannot certify later levels, rewards, purchases, saved progress, or a physical phone that was not used.
Keep the date, player address, input method, steps, and resulting screen changes with the check. A visible FAQ answer and its structured data must describe the same fact, but matching text alone does not prove that fact.
Writing and revision dates
Guides should help a reader choose and start a game with concrete instructions rather than padding, invented scores, or unobserved experience claims. Attribute a developer's statement when it is used as a source. Keep ownership of the guide separate from ownership of the game, artwork, and trademarks.
A guide's update date records a text revision unless the page describes a dated play check. It does not promise that every linked build was tested on that date. When correcting a material claim, explain what changed and why; do not silently present an editorial revision as a fresh play test.
Independence and advertising
Game selection and guide conclusions should be based on editorial usefulness. Payment or an advertisement must not be presented as evidence that a title is better, safer, or endorsed by its developer. Any paid placement or material commercial relationship must be clearly identified.
Where Google AdSense advertising is served, an advertisement is not a recommendation of the advertised product. The site's policy is to keep legal, contact, and player-control pages free of its own advertising. An external game service may show its own promotions under its own settings.
Report an error
Email guog29366@gmail.com with the game title, guide URL, and the sentence that appears wrong. Include the device or browser and the screen or action that differs, if available. Do not send account passwords or identity documents.
A correction needs comparison with the corresponding build or source before it is treated as confirmed. Rights complaints follow the process on the content rights page. The contact page provides the same editorial contact route.
